Visit for dank shitposts and memes. Few weeks ago i read a feedback thread in this subreddit regarding kernel panic on Ubuntu!6.XX on Ryzen CPU with Gigabyte Gaming K7.Thread:I am using GA-AB350M-Gaming 3, there might be a chance the same thing will occur. With regard to this matter, does anyone with Gigabyte mobo + Ryzen had this kernel panic problem?

From the same thread Fedora and others doesnt have any issues. I've been on fedora but there's no mirror server in my country (well, if i can setup one, how do i do that?) which makes even downloading delta-RPMs slow (even though i have enabled fastest speed argument)I can go to Arch, but then I will really miss good software support, but I have Ryzen, so compiling speed should takes care of that.Don't recommend me other Ubuntu Derivatives since the same problem could persist. This looks like a good chance to try SteamOS but the last time I can't stand the installer and I don't just play gamesEdit: formatting. I had the regular Gaming before I returned it (on account of it being an overall crap and unfinished board), but I can't say that I had an issue like that.

Don't get me wrong, I did run into a bug on 17.04 beta where it would recognize the CPU as a single core one and sleep/hybernate didn't work (still doesn't work on the MSI I replace it with), but it never got a kernel panic after I use the workaround for the install stopping bug.As it stands now, Gigabyte boards are unfortunately no good for Linux so I would recommend that Linux users avoid them for the time being. If you really must continue using Linux I will have to point out that Arch has it's own problems with Ryzen caused by the way they use pretty immature and buggy versions of things. As for other distros there's always Mint, but it may be too close to Ubuntu for comfort. Apart from that there's always the old classics of RHEL/CentOS, Fedora and Suse along with newcomers like Manjaro (which is based on Arch so it may share some of the issues) and Solus. However if you're serious about looking at other Linux distros I would recommend that you poke around on.

GNU/Linux is a free and open source software operating system for computers. The operating system is a collection of the basic instructions that tell the electronic parts of the computer what to do and how to work.

Free, Libre and open source software (FLOSS) means that everyone has the freedom to use it, see how it works, and change it.GNU/Linux is a collaborative effort between the GNU project, formed in 1983 to develop the GNU operating system and the development team of Linux, a kernel. Initially Linux was intended to develop into an operating system of its own, but these plans were shelved somewhere along the way. Hi all,I only just found out about the possibility of installing Linux on my old Xbox 360. I was wondering what all this would allow me to do.I was thinking about setting up a very basic file server running Ubuntu 14.04. Would I be able to do this on my Xbox?I managed to find a little information online but it's a little overwhelming.

Would anyone care to guide me somewhere with good instructions, or is this a project for experts?Thank you:)EDIT: I appreciate everyone's help. The resounding answers are essentially telling me it's not worth it. I'm not willing to waste a good Xbox 360 just because I can.
