That are no windows 7 drivers for that. How do you know the drivers are new? I looked at the Hercules web site and its dated back in 2007 for XP/Vista. I've even looked at other sites (that I wouldn't trust) and they also dated 2007. As far as I know the Visual C redistributable files are in the software packages from the vendor, in this case Hercules, and such a syntax error would have to be generated as a result of a file corruption.

I would also presume this file corruption could be either a C redistbutable file, one or more corrupt installation files, or perhaps one or more Windows files. If uninstalling and reinstalling the Hercules software does not correct the problem, then I would think your only choice is to do a clean re-installation of Windows 7. Did you do an upgrade from Vista 64-bit to Windows 7 64-bit?

Or did you do a clean install of Windows 7 64-bit? Doing an upgrade can cause problems such as this when existing files used in Vista are not fully compatible with Windows 7. Hey thanks for that link, that hercules sites really sucks:) Now that link you sent was very specific to follow instructions (which I'll assume you did for now).

I think though I've figured out the problem, the drivers are only 32bit (at least I'm pretty sure) so they will not install on your 64bit system. It installed just fine on my 32bit windows 7.

However, in the case of the C, its possible you had something else that installed Mircosoft C and its a new version, you'll need to uninstall it, and try again. Yes, all hardware devices need 64-bit drivers to work on a 64-bit version of Windows. Drivers designed for 32-bit versions of Windows won't work on computers running 64-bit versions of Windows. If you are unsure whether there is a 64-bit driver available for your device, see or go to the device manufacturer's website. You can also go online to the, or get information about drivers by going to the website.MCSE, MCSA, MCDST If this post helps to resolve your issue, please click the 'Mark as Answer' or 'Helpful' button at the top of this message.
